India has a rich musical history with records of ancient musical instruments found in revered Hindu religious scriptures...Indian music is believed to have been developed as a result of the interaction between Indian people and people belonging to many diverse cultures.
There are many types of musical instruments which Indians have used since ancient times..Many musical instruments were developed to accompany religious singing. Depictions of Mira, a devotee of Lord Krishna in many antique art works and other such depictions show the significance of musical instruments in worship..
Some of those Musical instruments would include:
# The flute
This cylindrical tube-shaped instrument may come in many sizes and is played by blowing air into one end of the tube.
# Sitar
This is believed to be the ancestor of the modern, western guitar. It has a long neck
and may have six or seven main cords.
# Sarod
This has a small wooden body and a steel-encased fingerboard.
#Sarangi
This instrument is played using a bow against strings, much like a modern-day violin.
# Shehenai
This instrument is usually played at auspicious events and ceremonies.
# Tabla
This is the name for Indian drums which are usually made from wood with animal-skin covers on top.
#Santoor

*ANGLING -
is a method of fishing, specifically the practice of catching fish by means of an "angle" (hook). The hook is usually attached by a line to a fishing rod. A bite indicator such as a float is sometimes, but not always, used. Frequently, the rod is outfitted with a fishing reel that functions as a mechanism for storing, retrieving and paying out the line. The hook can be dressed with lures or bait.
*BUNGEE JUMPING-
is an activity that involves jumping from a tall structure while connected to a large rubber cord. The tall structure is usually a fixed object, such as a building, bridge or crane; but it is also possible to jump from a movable object, such as a hot-air-balloon or helicopter, that has the ability to hover over one spot on the ground; fixed-wing aircraft are unsuitable because they only stay aloft when moving rapidly forward.
When the person jumps, the cord stretches to absorb the energy of the fall, then the jumper flies upwards again as the cord snaps back. The jumper oscillates up and down until all the energy is used up..
*CAVING-
also called spelunking, is the recreational sport of exploring caves.
*CANOEING-
is the activity of paddling a canoe. It usually refers exclusively to using a paddle to propel a canoe with only human muscle power. A kayak is propelled using a paddle with two blades where the paddler sits with their legs in front of them, whereas canoes are propelled using single- or double-bladed paddles where the paddler is kneeling or sitting. Kayaks are usually closed-decked boats with a spraydeck, while canoes are usually open boats. There are also open kayaks and closed canoes. Technically, a kayak can be seen as a special kind of canoe
*HAND GLIDING-
is an air activity in which a pilot flies an unpowered, light, foot-launchable aircraft called a hang glider. Hang gliding is mainly a recreational air sport, though it has also been used in commerce and for military applications. Most modern hang gliders are made of an aluminum- or composite-framed fabric wing; however vintage hang gliders are still built with a combination of wood, bamboo, and metal. The most common method of control is by shifting the pilot's mass fore and aft or left or right but other devices, including modern aircraft flight control systems, may be used. The pilot is hung beneath a lifting wing, most commonly in a harness hanging from the airframe by flexible hang lines.
*HOT-AIR BALLOONING-
is the activity of flying hot air balloons. Attractive aspects of ballooning include the exceptional quiet (except when the propane burners are firing), the lack of a feeling of movement, and the bird's-eye view. Since the balloon moves with the wind, the passengers feel absolutely no wind, except for brief periods during the flight when the balloon climbs or descends into air currents of different direction or speed.
*MOUNTAINEERING-
is the sport, hobby or profession of walking, hiking, trekking and climbing up mountains. It is also sometimes known as alpinism, particularly in Europe. While it began as an all-out attempt to reach the highest point of unclimbed mountains, it has branched into specializations addressing different aspects of mountains and may now be said to consist of three aspects: rock-craft, snow-craft and skiing, depending on whether the route chosen is over rock, snow or ice. All require great athletic and technical ability, and experience is also very important.
*MOUNTAIN BIKING -
It entails the sport of riding bicycles off-road, often over rough terrain, whether riding specially equipped mountain bikes or hybrid road bikes.
Mountain biking is roughly broken down into four categories: cross country, downhill, freeride, and trials/street riding. Each has differing levels of safety-consciousness with different types of mountain bikes and riding gear.
*PARA-GLIDING -
is a recreational and competitive flying sport. A paraglider is a free-flying, foot-launched aircraft. The pilot sits in a harness suspended below a fabric wing, whose shape is formed by the pressure of air entering vents in the front of the wing.
*PARA-SAILING -
also known as parascending, is a recreational activity where a person is towed behind a vehicle (usually a boat) while attached to a specially designed parachute, known as a parasail. The boat then drives off, carrying the parascender into the air. If the boat is powerful enough, two or three people can parasail behind it at the same time.
*ROCK-CLIMBING -
is the act of ascending steep rock formations.
The variety of rocks around the world has led rock climbing to separate into several disciplines, including top-roping, sport climbing, traditional climbing and bouldering.
*RAPELLING-Climb down that rock.
*SCUBA DIVING -
'scuba' is an acronym for "self contained underwater breathing apparatus".
scuba diving is swimming underwater, or taking part in another activity, while using a scuba set. By carrying a source of breathing gas (usually compressed air) The scuba diver typically swims underwater by using fins attached to the feet. However, some divers also move around with the assistance of a DPV (diver propulsion vehicle), commonly called a "scooter", or by using surface-tethered devices called sleds pulled by a boat.
*SPHERING/ZORBING-
is the practice traveling in a sphere, generally made of transparent plastic.
Sphereing is generally performed on a gentle slope, allowing the rider to roll downhill, but sphereing can also be done on a level surface, permitting more rider control, as well as on water.
*SURFING -
is a surface water sport in which the participant is carried along the face of a breaking wave, most commonly using a surfboard, although wave-riders may make use of kneeboards, body boards (aka boogie boards), kayaks, surf skis, and their own bodies.

The History of Valentine's Day
Every February, across the country, candy, flowers, and gifts are exchanged between loved ones, all in the name of St. Valentine..
But who is this mysterious saint and why do we celebrate this holiday??
The history of Valentine's Day -- and its patron saint -- is shrouded in mystery.,But we do know that February has long been a month of romance...
St. Valentine's Day, as we know it today, contains vestiges of both Christian and ancient Roman tradition...
So, who was Saint Valentine and how did he become associated with this ancient rite? Today, the Catholic Church recognizes at least three different saints named Valentine or Valentinus, all of whom were martyred.
-One legend contends that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men -- his crop of potential soldiers. Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine's actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that he be put to death.
-According to one legend, Valentine actually sent the first 'valentine' greeting himself. While in prison, it is believed that Valentine fell in love with a young girl -- who may have been his jailor's daughter -- who visited him during his confinement. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter, which he signed 'From your Valentine,' an expression that is still in use today. Although the truth behind the Valentine legends is murky, the stories certainly emphasize his appeal as a sympathetic, heroic, and, most importantly, romantic figure. It's no surprise that by the Middle Ages, Valentine was one of the most popular saints in England and France.!!.
It's estimated that one billion valentine cards are sent each year, making Valentine's Day the second largest card-sending holiday of the year.
#The oldest known Valentine card is on display at the British Museum.
##The first commercial Valentine's Day greeting cards produced in the U.S. were created in the 1840s by Esther A. Howland.[Howland, known as the Mother of the Valentine, made elaborate creations with real lace, ribbons and colorful pictures known as "scrap".]
